Compass

Together, We're Building Stronger Communities

A thriving community is one where people feel supported and connected; it's a place where everyone has the chance to live with dignity, find joy, and succeed. When we help people support themselves, we lift up our entire community.

With Island Health, the City of Campbell River and other agencies, we’ve identified and addressed gaps in services and are developing a seniors hubs to provide support to seniors in need.

We supported the coordination of a Housing Needs Assessment; a stepping-stone to a five year strategy to address affordable housing. We're working to engage the community to generate dialogue and share thoughts, ideas and concerns about what's needed for affordable housing.

As a member of the Coalition we’re actively helping to implement the Housing Needs Assessment’s five year affordable housing plan.

In 2018, we funded research to help the Campbell River Family Network develop a State of the Child Report on the issues effecting young children's health in the Campbell River Area and Region. The goal of the report is to engage and mobilize the community into taking action to help children thrive.

We directed funds from Success By 6, an early childhood development initiative, and contributed to a capital campaign to increase spaces in this much-needed childcare centre in Port Hardy.
